search of greater challenges, Lye Chan left a successful career
as Human Resource Manager in Conrad International Centennial
Singapore in December 1998 to set up TRAINING STRATEGIES,
a training and consultancy business for the service industry.
Chan has extensive experience in the training and development
of human resources and has made significant contributions
to the successful implementation of the On-Job-Training system
for Orchard Hotel and Conrad International Centennial Singapore.
These hotels were subsequently accredited by the Institute
of Technical Education (ITE) as Certified On-Job-Training
Centres. Under her capable and dynamic leadership as Human
Resource Manager, her previous company, Conrad International
Centennial Singapore, became the first in the hotel industry
to be conferred the prestigious People Developer Award (1998),
the national standard for Human Resource Development.
Chan also has invaluable first-hand experience in the opening
of hotels, in particular the setting up of the Front Office
and Training & Development departments. She has customised
and conducted courses for hotels both in Sinagpore and overseas,
for serviced apartments, clubs, hospitals as well as the automobile
and property management industries. Moreover, she has lectured
in subjects which lead to the SHATEC Higher Diploma in Hotel
specializes in People Developer Systems Implementation, Quality
Customer Service, Teambuilding, People Skills, Supervisory
Skills, Front Office Management and Human Resource Development.
Her skills are acquired as a result of years of accumulated
experience as a Senior Assistant Manager (Rooms Division),
Trainer, Training Manager, Human Resource Manager and Consultant.
Lye Chan is also an Associate Trainer with the Singapore Human
Resources Institute (SHRI).
